The Shoot

Endsleigh

Endsleigh (formally known as the Hardicott Shoot) is the newest addition to the Huntsham Sporting stable of shoots. Traditionally run privately, Endsleigh is home to the Tuckett family, who still manage and live on the estate.

Situated on the banks of the Tamar River, where Devon and Cornwall meet, many will know Endsleigh as one of the most exclusive shoots in the south west. The steep wooded banks and long sweeping valleys provide the ideal topography for testing, high bird shooting, with many teams well and truly beaten by the famous Swiss Cottage and Hatchery drives.

With typical bags ranging from 400-500 birds in October and November to 300-400 birds in December and January, Endsleigh’s 30 or so shoot days are in high demand, with teams encouraged to book early to avoid disappointment.

Hotel Endsleigh is situated in the heart of the shoot with beautiful views across the Tamar valley. Owned and run by Olga Polizzi, the hotel provides teams with stunning 5 star accommodation throughout the season.

Huntsham

Up until the spring of 2020, HMR Sporting had owned and run the Huntsham Shoot, near Tiverton, in Devon. Over their six years of running the shoot, HMR Sporting doubled the shoot’s size, developed many new drives, and broke the estate records for bag size and returns.

After much deliberation by the partners, it was decided that HMR Sporting would leave Huntsham in February 2020 to concentrate their offerings at Endsleigh.

Hospitality

Run with a relaxed and intimate feel and set against the backdrop of the renowned Hotel Endsleigh, HMR Sporting’s hospitality exceeds expectation. Elevenses and shoot lunches are prepared with the finest ingredients from the surrounding area, and served at the most beautiful locations on the estate.

At Endsleigh, guns are offered accommodation at the Hotel Endsleigh, a beautiful five star hotel situated at the heart of the shoot. Hotel Endsleigh is a Grade I historic house set in 100 acres of fairytale woodland, follies and grottos created by Humphrey Repton. The Duke of Bedford, who owned a third of Devon, chose this location for his fishing and hunting lodge.

Hotel Endsleigh has 19 rooms each individually designed with uncluttered elegance, perfect for shooting parties, guns and their guests. Hotel Endsleigh welcomes dogs.
