Overview

Students enrolling into the Live Production and Technical Services course will have an interest in and looking for a career in providing services for the entertainment industry.

Three (3) terms full time (approximately 24 hours per week).

Independent study additional (approx. 8 hours per week) The course is delivered via an industry placement with the Canberra Theatre Centre. This requires attendance during the week (approx. 4 days) and will also require attendance during evenings and weekends. This is broken into 3 days of practical technical applications and a day where the student is supporting the live production on location.

This course is delivered through industry placement where students will be working within the Canberra Theatre Centre. It will require attendance during weekdays, evenings, and weekends (approximately four days per week).

      Description: This unit of competency specifies the mandatory work health and safety training required prior to undertaking construction work. The unit requires the person to demonstrate personal awareness and knowledge of health and safety legislative requirements in order to work safely and prevent injury or harm to self and others. It covers identifying and orally reporting common construction hazards, understanding basic risk control measures, and identifying procedures for responding to potential incidents and emergencies.
