Additional Information

Students are advised that COVID-19 vaccination is now mandatory for all health care workers including students on placement. Evidence must be provided by students proving vaccination to 91视频 and may be requested by the Facility or Organisation on entry for placement.

All students will be for the duration of the course.

This course has three mandatory clinical industry placement blocks (400 hours over three semesters).
Stage 1: 3 weeks
Stage 2: 4 weeks
Stage 3: 4 weeks

Placements are provided in areas such as: Acute Care, Aged Care, Mental Health Rehabilitation, Community Nursing and Palliative Care. Before any clinical placements can commence, you will have to provide: a doctor's certificate (to say you are fit to undertake nursing duties); evidence of commencement of required vaccinations; a First Aid Certificate valid for the duration of the course and a completed police check. 91视频 teachers will arrange all placements

Entry Requirements

There are no entry requirements for this qualification as per the training package requirements for HLT54121 Diploma of Nursing. However, for students to enrol into the Diploma of Nursing program they must meet the following 91视频 entry requirements:

  • Have completed Year 12 (within the last 10 years at an accredited or tertiary level) with at least a C grade average in English and Maths or successfully completed the LLN test (ACSF level 4).
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Have a current clear Working with Vulnerable People Card
  • Have a current clear Australian Federal Police Check - Code 08 - Hospital Employment
  • Have an up-to-date immunisation/vaccination record - Vaccination Card (PDF 270Kb)
  • Have basic computer skills
  • A letter from their General Practitioner stating fitness to undertake nursing duties
  • A current First Aid Certificate
  • Evidence of current Influenza and Covid vaccine - all required vaccinations
