Overview
This course provides the required skills and knowledge to be competent in a wide range of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) roles. It will allow you to complete electives and provide pathways into Networking, Programming and Cyber Security employment opportunities or further studies. On completion, you will have the skills and knowledge to apply and support IT activities in the workplace across a wide range of ICT areas, including technical support, network administration, website creation, digital media technologies, coding skills and programming frameworks, virtual computing and basic cyber security skills.

91视频 selects electives from the national training package that focus on providing relevant training for each specialist career outcome. These are divided into two study streams from Certificate IV level: Network Administration (including Cyber Security) or Programming and Web Applications. Students can also elect to study the Certificate IV in Cyber Security (22603VIC). The Certificate III course is designed to provide fundamental skills across both study pathway options.
If you are interested in Programming and Web Applications, you can complete the Certificate IV in Information Technology (ICT40120) without prior experience. Full-time students will engage in a diverse range of coding languages from the beginning. If you don鈥檛 have web design or coding experience, you might prefer starting with this course or the Statement of Attainment in Networking and Web Development.
Entry Requirements
There are no required entry requirements, however, it is recommended that you have a basic understanding of using computers, MS Windows environments, document production and internet browser use.
This course is primarily aimed at students wishing to undertake full-time studies and timetables are geared towards daytime classes.
Part-time students should seek advice on subject choices to build knowledge progressively and prepare for advanced programming concepts. Those with existing work skills should consider the Statement of Attainment in Networking and Web Development or Statement of Attainment in Networking and Computer Hardware, which consist of six subjects and will you prepare you for Certificate IV level studies.

We suggest that you will need Australian Core Skills Framework literacy levels of at least 3 across reading, writing, learning, oral communication and, depending on your course of study, numeracy skills to successfully complete this course.
